Barcelona

I've been blown off course from South America and found myself in Spain for the first time in 9 years. I forgot how much I love Madrid and Barcelona. I only had 2 days in Madrid and didn't have a chance to paint. The Pope was in town and the city was on lock down. I have been flat out with life stuff the whole time I've been here, but managed to find a spot to paint in Barcelona and snuck away for a couple of hours. It was great to use good paint for the first time in 6 months.

Barcelona is no where near as bombed as the last time I was here. All the legal walls have been knocked down and all the walls in the city have been buffed except for a few spots here and there.

Pretty much every roller door in the city is bombed by the who's who of world wide graffiti. It's great to see. Here is just a sample.

Huanchaco, Peru

I arrived in Huanchaco, a small surfing town outside the city of Trujillo in Peru a few mornings ago. It's a chilled out town with not a lot to do except surf and drink beer. After a couple of days the weather turned grey and I got off the beach and found a little hardware store. It was a dusty room with dogs living in there and junk everywhere. The guy managed to dig up a bucket of booger green paint a can of blue spray paint and a bunch of blacks. I was pretty happy he had that much.

I was lucky to catch the Miss Peru finalists hanging out down the beach.

The town is small and I was running out of spots pretty fast. I saw a big wall on top of a hill with a set of steps leading up to it. I went up to check it out and found myself in a slum. I heard that there is a lot of dodgy stuff that goes on around Trujillo, but Huanchaco seemed pretty chill so I thought I'd hang out and paint up there. The locals were all pretty nice. I played soccer with some of the kids up there. They were really dirty and poor and the soccer ball had no air in it.

Postcards from home

I've been getting a few flicks sent through from the boys back home. It makes me a bit homesick... but I know what Melbourne winters can be like and I'm sitting on a beech in the sunshine at the moment. So I'll get over it.

Ikool is the man for redoing this wall. Really appreciate it mate!
